PPC ad pricing and placement

What is price per click?
Your price per click is the maximum amount you would pay for a click from a potential customer. You will never pay more than the price you set for clicks to your site.

How long does it take for price changes to be updated?
You can monitor and make price changes in real-time. However, changes to what is published on the SuperPages.com network are refreshed at regular intervals throughout the day. So, changes to ads, prices, and relative placement will not show up online immediately.

What is my cost per click?
Cost per click is the amount you actually pay for a click. Your cost per click will never be more than the price per click that you set.

What should my price be?
Your price per click should be the most you are willing to pay for a click - you will never pay more. We provide a couple tools that may help when you set your price:

  • Estimated price per click - During the set up process, we will show the an estimated price that to get your ad near the top of search results. The estimated max price will help you to be competitive.
  • Try our price calculator - Based on your average sale amount, profit margin and an estimated click conversion rate, our calculator will generate a PPC for your business. The calculated PPC amount will allow you to break even on your Pay Per Click advertising. You can adjust it up or down based on your marketing objectives.

You can change your price per click at any time. So, you can try a price and modify it later to improve your results.

Is there a minimum price per click?
Yes. The lowest price you can set is 20¢ per click.

If I have the highest price, will I appear first?
Price alone does not determine your ad position in search results. Ad position is also based on your ad's relevance to search criteria a user has entered and the click through rate it has received.

How are ads ranked?
You ad position depends on both a competitive price per click and relevant content. The better your ad performs, the higher your potential click-through rate. The factors that contribute to your ad's ranking in search results are listed below in no specific order:

  • Price per click - Set competitive prices for each category you select.
  • Ad title and description - Use keywords and text that accurately describe your products, services and offers.
  • Category and keywords - Choose the relevant categories and keywords that best describe your business.
  • Target audience - Target your ad to reach potential customers within your service area.
  • Business profile information - Build a comprehensive business profile so customers can easily learn more about your business.
  • Landing page content - Be sure that your landing page is relevant to the categories and keywords associated with your ad.
  • Click-through rate - The better your ad performs, the better ranking you will get.

Is there a way to maintain the number one position?
There is not a way to constantly maintain the number one position because competitors can change their prices and ad content. If you want to appear near the top within your search criteria you will need to monitor competitive ads and update yours accordingly.

How can I view the top prices?
When you set up your Pay Per Click price you will see the estimated price per click in your categories. This will give you an idea of the prices competitors are willing to pay. However, price per click alone does not determine your ad placement.

Will I need to set a different price for every target location?
No, you do not have to have a separate price per click for every target location, though it is an option. You have the following pricing options:

  • Global - You can set one price per click for all categories and target locations
  • By category - You can set prices for each category regardless of target locations

Will I still be charged if I do not get any clicks during the month?
If you don't have any active ads, or if they are all paused, you will not be charged for any clicks. If your ads are active and just not receiving any clicks, you will be billed a $15 minimum monthly maintenance fee.

When will price changes be reflected on the site?
Changes to what is published on the SuperPages.com network are made at regular intervals throughout the day. So, changes to ads, prices, and ad position will not show up immediately.
